Maurice van Brast: a creator, specialist and visioneer. He likes what he is doing and he does what he likes. Always. Since 1989 his mission is to create work that simplifies, synthesizes and clarifies. He is both, thinker and maker. Some people might say he is obsessed.
Currently he leads freelance creative engagements for a wide range of clients, from broadcast stations to fashion houses to big corporations. His best relationships are with clients who appreciate the extra value creativity delivers. He has a long term experience for creating work with a special focus on a kids audience. With an unusually sophisticated sensibility for "the next big thing" and an affinity for intelligent ideas and driven work that has an impact he fights against ugliness and boredom.
Main part of his work is a love for finding new ways to inspire and delight his viewers. He enjoys new possibilities in audiovisual expressions in a creative universe, to discover the borders where no man has gone before. His unique approach to engaging his work, his iconic style and his passion has earned him many acknowledgments through all the years.
Maurice van Brast is specialized and very special in visual communication, interaction design, visual arts and experimental television, based on strong concepts. His mind works multidisciplinary. Maurice van Brast is also a frequent teacher at Bauhaus University, Weimar, teaching workshops in visual storytelling and scriptwriting and development for animation.
